International Women's Day - Zeta Rush
To mark International Women's Day we asked a few friends of Welcome to talk about some of the marginalised gender skateboarders that they've found to be inspirational in this wide world of skateboarding. This is what Zeta had to say:
Lois Pendlebury (@lil.lo.pea)
Born and raised in Bradford, she smashed it for years and more than held her own as part of one of the rowdiest scenes in the country. She should probably have had more coverage than she did, then at the point where female skateboarding started to blow up, she moved to the Alps and became a shepherd. What she was missing in teeth she more than made up for in sheer grit, and as much as I miss her being on a session or seeing her at an event, her life in the mountains looks incredible. A true legend.
